Helen Oliver-Skuse - 'Dark Europe: The Train'

Photographically capturing movement can alter the sense of the three-dimensional solidity of buildings and the effect that the patterns created by the movement impart. The images in Dark Europe: the Train were initially inspired by the ability to exploit this effect. Working with the images later, I became aware of a slightly sinister quality in some of scenes, evidence possibly of a darker aspect to Europe’s history?
