Laura Osborne

"My art practice is an integral part of my life. I do not see it as something separate from my identity. My desire to create images is and always has been all encompassing.
Through the study of printmaking, I found my true visual language. Beginning with a Diploma in Visual Arts at the age of sixteen and then, at twenty-five I went to live in Paris, where the journey into the world of printmaking began.
The alchemy of etching is incredibly exciting - it is an adventure into chemistry, a type of alchemy where the laws of physics marry with the search for beauty.
At present, the focus of my work is on consumerism and its disastrous effects our planet. I use labels from purchased items and motifs from the world of Buy Now, Pay Later."  Laura Osborne, October 2021
