Sara Manser

In her practice, Sara Manser has an ongoing interest in our coexistence with nature and our built environment. Nature represented by the hill, and the urban seen here in the form of a house, are motifs she has used throughout her practice. Having relocated many times (born in the UK, lived in Brisbane and currently resides in Melbourne), Manser always find herself connecting home and art practice to some form of nature in order to find balance. Visualising these concepts through a variety of media is how she adapts.

No house should ever be on a hill or on anything. It should be of the hill. Belonging to it. Hill and house should live together each the happier for the other. Frank Lloyd Wright
