Using flowers as the actors upon her stage, Jenani Therone is able to render elusive articles that remain beyond utterance. Softly focused and swaying in unseen currents, these photographs are evocative and moody. With bold colours and abstracted forms, they are far from a naturalistic representation of each bloom. These are works that speak to the passions of life and of creativity. They remind us of the emotions that bind us together or drive us apart, and herald a call to the absolute necessity to follow the authentic path that one is called to.
