Nina Ryan - 'Our Daily Bread'

Wednesday 22 June - Saturday 9 July 2022

Nina Ryan's paintings explore how the mind processes visual information. Unlike a camera lens that views everything with equal emphasis, the mind is selective as to what it stresses. These paintings only reveal objects to a point-until they can be recognised and identified. In other areas the marks are only arbitrary, open to interpretation whereby the viewer become participant. Life's experiences become an essential player in the selective process.

Nina Ryan has completed a Bachelor of Arts in Fine Art from RMIT. which she obtained with distinction. Since then, she has exhibited continuously and been a finalist in numerous prizes. Her paintings are included in Art Bank, Rio Tinto, Maroondah City Council, a number of Melbourne hospitals, including St Vincents, Peter MacCallum, Epworth and Cabrini as well as in private collections in Australia and overseas.
