Three Gippsland artists, whose work is varied in style and content, decided that there was No Restrictions for this exhibition with the exception of a collaboration on uniformity of canvas size: their expressions are individual.
Coppock’s wabi sabi compositions use a limited palette. Her use of multimedia, synthetic polymer, paper and thread on canvas challenge the artist to create balance and harmony.
Mann looks at loss and emotion. Dealing with the loss of something precious and the waiting for that something to return, she uses found baby clothing, gauze, stitch and paint on canvas.
Witchell’s interest in texture and disintegration of surfaces over time looks to the adornment of rust, peeling paint and the layering effects of ageing juxtaposed by modern colour elements.
Participating artists: Sue Coppock, Glenys Mann, Libby Witchell
