Otto Boron - 'Imaginary'

Wednesday 13 March - Sunday 7 April 2019

Imaginary marks Otto Boron’s 30th solo exhibition here in Victoria. In his practice, Boron looks to present his work primary as a vision of colours, shapes and lines,
creating a dynamic composition with a preference to adopt a technique that is free and painterly rich (impasto), reducing the illustrative presence so as to encourage the viewer to reflect and meditate on the content.

Born in northern Italy, Otto arrived in Melbourne in 1959, with his first exhibition a group show at the Italian Centre of Art in 1962. He has shown throughout the country since then, joining the Victorian Artists' Society in 1979 where he has consistently collected award after award for his expressive and textural works.
