Vale Paul Kathner OAM - 1935-2023

Founder of Scenic Studios in Melbourne, Kathner initially trained as an artist and scene designer in Sydney. With his company, he went on to paint sets and backdrops for the most significant ballets, operas and musicals in Australia.

On retirement he spent time pursuing personal interests in the depiction of regional Victoria - townscapes, landscapes, seascapes, skyscapes and in all weathers, rain or shine.
