Shades of Grey 2015

Shades of Grey was born out of the chance happening of three artists who found themselves bumping around together within the Masters of Fine Art program at RMIT.

They share a common bond in the pursuit of an aesthetic that explores the connections of light and movement within a field of reduced tones. Whilst Shannon McGrath captures the burning of light within an in-camera collage, Louise Gresswell constructs a domestic narrative through fabric stained by actions. TJ Bateson's linocuts entraps the viewer in a mesmerising gaze - as does his painting, which constructs space via thin layers of reduced tone.
