Linocut printmaking is Lawry's choice. From the forest near to where she lives or Japan’s Nakasendo Way: from taking and choosing the photographs that act as reference points for her print work: from sketching the outlines and shading on the lino in deciding which cutting techniques will best capture her intentions; from experimenting with new ones and conversations with other linocut artists. All contribute to Lawry's love of her medium, influenced as she is by the perfect lines of  a Claude Flight print, the quiet devastation in a Kath Kollwitz, the brutality in an Otto Dix,
